Take greater control of your free motion quilting with the Husqvarna Viking Free Motion Echo Quilting Foot. Designed with a large base for good surface contact with the fabric, this quilting foot helps provide improved control while stitching.

The transparent base offers 360° visibility, making it easier to see your quilting design as you work. Vertical, horizontal and circular markings on the foot provide useful guides for following continuous-line quilting patterns and creating evenly spaced echo quilting rows.

Sew straight lines or follow rounded patterns in any direction to create attractive quilting effects around motifs, appliqué and other designs.

How to Use

1. Loosen the presser foot ankle screw completely and remove the ankle.
2. Position the Free Motion Echo Quilting Foot around the presser bar and attach it using the screw.
3. Thread the sewing machine.
4. Select a straight stitch.
5. Set the machine to Free Motion Floating mode. The feed dogs will drop automatically.
6. Bring the bobbin thread to the top by taking one stitch. Hold both threads and sew a few stitches in place to begin.
7. Maintain a consistent sewing speed while moving the fabric smoothly. The movement of the fabric determines the stitch length.
8. Stitch around your quilting motif, appliqué or pattern while maintaining a uniform distance.
9. Stitch a second row, using the red markings on the foot to help maintain even spacing.
10. Repeat the process as many times as required to achieve your desired echo quilting effect.

Free Motion Floating Mode

When sewing in Free Motion Floating mode at a low speed, the presser foot raises and lowers with each stitch to hold the fabric against the stitch plate while the stitch is formed.

At a higher sewing speed, the presser foot floats over the fabric while sewing.
